Comment: We provide field services to mortgage companies. They come to us when a residential loan is in default, bankruptcy, collections, or foreclosure. In other words, the loan is not performing the way that it was originally intended. Typically, a mortgage company will start the process with a property inspection in order to determine occupancy, property condition, security, etc. If the property becomes vacant, the mortgage company will then order property preservation work. Preservation includes securing, winterizing, debris removal, yard maintenance, repairs, etc.
